Longest distance traveled on a slip and slide: Mahwah students smashed Guinness World Records' record (VIDEO)
MAHWAH, NJ, USA -- More than 250 Mahwah students set a new World Record for the longest distance traveled on a slip-and-slide in less than an hour; the students are part of the Mahwah Police Department's eighth annual Leadership Academy at Ramapo College; the eighth graders to 12th graders students slid down the 74.5-foot slide over and over to beat the previous Guinness World Records' record of just under 20 miles, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The Guinness World Records' record for the longest distance traveled on a slip and slide in one hour is 41,404.42 m (135,841 ft), and was achieved by Shelby Farms Park Conservancy (USA) in Memphis, Tennessee, USA on 5 July 2014.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the e most people down a water slide in one hour; it is 289 and was achieved by the Sandcastle Waterpark (UK) in Blackpool, UK, on 13 November 2014
More than 250 Mahwah students set a new World Record for the longest distance traveled on a slip-and-slide in less than an hour, the NorthJersey.com reported.
The students are part of the Mahwah Police Department's eighth annual Leadership Academy at Ramapo College, Chief James Batelli said.
The eighth graders to 12th graders students slid down the 74.5-foot slide over and over to beat the previous record of just under 20 miles. They had to slide down almost 1,400 times.
