The Guinness world record for the longest chain of beads measured 6,438.6 m (4 miles) and was achieved by the South Slave Divisional Education Council (Canada) at the Diamond Jenness Secondary School in Hay River, Northwest Territories, Canada.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for largest collection of prayer beads; it is 3,642 prayer beads and belongs to Jamal Sleeq (Kuwait), in Kuwait City, Kuwait.
Children from cancer wards all across the UK have helped to produce the giant necklace which is almost six miles long.
According to the Bradford Telegraph and Argus, charity founder Colin Nesbitt, who had been planning the record attempt since October, said: "It is brilliant. What is nice is that we have made all these children into world record holders. It is awesome to be honest."
"Lots of hard work has gone into it and it's been a long day for the kids, but it has been worthwhile. We have given kids with cancer something to smile about."
He and his team have spent weeks stinging together more than a million beads to create the necklace.
