Most signed Lego bricks in one structure: Lego fair set world record

Holt, Norfolk, UK -- The North Norfolk facility was the venue for a Lego fair, organized by Fakenham couple Diane and Adrian Fletcher, who supervised the construction of a Lego tower containing over 1,000,000 signed Lego bricks - which sets the world record for Most signed Lego bricks in one structure.

The Guinness world record for the The largest image built with interlocking plastic bricks (Lego) measures 112 m² (1205.55 ft²) and was made by DK Publishing House (UK).

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the tallest structure built with interlocking plastic bricks (Lego): 30.52 m (100 ft, 1 in) high, constructed by the Stichting Limmen Ludiek (Netherlands) foundation.

The world record attempt was organised by Fakenham couple Diane and Adrian Fletcher, who were given more than one million Lego blocks before it started after a public appeal.

The event included an auction of all of the Lego on display, plus a host of different trains made from the bricks.
There was also a medieval scene, Star Wars Lego, a 21-inch Lego man, an 18m Lego town and a winter village scene.

Mrs Fletcher said she and her husband decided to do it after being convinced by their son.

She said: "We do teddy bear days at Bircham Windmill. Our son said: 'Why don't you do something sensible that I will enjoy?' And that's how this started."

She added: "It's a timeless toy. Grandparents hand it down and everybody loves it. It's a new toy every day."

An estimated 4,000 visited the event - raising upward of £10,000 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
