A unique piece of world record history was made in Mayo, when Eamon Keane, a local Primary School Teacher, became the first man ever to to complete the Guinness World Record Superhuman Strength Challenge (""The Big 5"").

  The 5 world records were:
  1. 1 Hour Bench Press
  2. 1 Hour Barbell Squat
  3. 1 Hour Deadlift
  4. 1 Hour Military Press
  5. 1 Hour Incline DumBell Flyes.

"On behalf of the team at Lough Lannagh Holiday Village and Lough Lannagh Fitness, well done to Eamon and we are proud of his World class achievements" Paul, Gerardine and Dannie, Management Team at Lough Lannagh Holiday Village.

"I'd love to be doing them injury free but there's a certain satisfaction to doing them when you're injured too," explained the National School teacher. "It's mind over matter in a lot of ways."

World Gym founder Joe Gold, a mentor to people like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Incredible Hulk actor, Lou Ferrigno, said after
he broke his first record: "Eamonn Keane has something I've never seen in another human being."
"His one hour bench press of 305,300lbs is absolutely amazing and is a record that just might never be broken. It proves he is the greatest endurance strength athlete who has ever walked on planet Earth. He is 100 per cent natural and an Irish gentleman."
