The previous Guinness world record for the Most pizzas made in one hour was 168 pizzas, set in July by Bob Blumer, host of Food Network's Glutton for Punishment.

According to the Toledo Blade, Edler was marking Domino's 50th anniversary and had trained three months for the event. Brian Edler has been making pizzas for 28 years.

Edler is experienced at pizza-making as a sport. He competed several times with the U.S. Pizza Team at the World Pizza Championship in Italy and has won the title of fastest pizza maker at several national and international competitions, according to the Toledo Blade.

Proceeds from his pizza sales were donated to the United Way of Hancock County and the City Mission of Findlay.

In addition to setting the speed record, an auction was held during Edler's efforts, which raised more than $33,000 for local and national charities. Edler's final pizza raked in a $5,000 auction bid.

Findlay Mayor Pete Sehnert, Findlay police Sgt. Robert Ring, and Hancock County Commissioner Edward Ingold judged the pizzas coming out of the ovens, ensuring they met standards for size and completeness.

Edler is the second Domino's Pizza franchisee in 2010 to break a Guinness World Record.

California-based franchisee Bob Leikam and his 85-person team set the record earlier this year for most pizzas made in 24 hours by a team, creating a total of 6,838 pies.
While there was no official world record for the most pizzas made in 24 hours, Guinness World Records required that Leikam and his team make at least 5,000 pizzas to recognize their event.

"Both Brian and Bob are exemplary franchisees and outstanding business leaders – and the excitement generated by their record-breaking successes symbolizes the positive, fun and competitive people we are thrilled to have representing Domino's Pizza," said Scott Hinshaw, executive vice president of franchise operations and development of Domino's Pizza.
"It's a thrill to have Domino's Pizza own two records in the pizza category."

Guinness World Records also recognized The highest pizza base toss using 567 g (20 oz) of dough is 6.52 m (21 ft 5 in) by Joe Carlucci (USA) at Mall of America, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.
