Most pizzas made in 24 hours -
Taft Domino's Pizza set world record
TAFT, Calif., USA--During the California city of Taft's 100th anniversary celebration, entitled "Oildorado", Domino's Pizza (owners Bob and Tina Leikam) made and delivered 6,838 pizzas
 - setting the new world record for the Most pizzas made in 24 hours by a team.

"I was tremendously excited," owner Bob Leikam said. "The credit for it all goes to my wife, Tina. It was her idea. She was born and raised here and has always wanted to do something like this during Oildorado."

Guinness World Records representative, Danny Girton jr., along with a corporate representative from New York for Domino's, Police Chief Ken McMinn, and Dr. Tang certified the record breaking on the spot.

Leikam said Guinness World Records requirements included a radio-controlled clock, two stopwatches, two video cameras, a digital camera and a logbook, which was signed by a doctor and Police Chief Ken McMinn.
Also required was a Domino's rep, who was on hand to verify that the crew met corporate standards.

With a total of 85 workers consisting of former and current crew members and even a few Domino's workers from Los Angeles, Burbank and Diamond Bar, Arizona, they were able to crank out 400 pizzas an hour.
"The help was outstanding," Leikam said. "There was no way we could have done it without them...and the ovens!"

Record orders in Taft included 890 pizzas called in for the Police Department and 650 pies ordered by the city to feed the marching band after the Oildorado Grand Parade.

Helping to deliver those record orders was the "world's largest pizza delivery bag," designed by Adam's Custom Upholstery, which Leikam said fit in the back of a pickup and held 200 pizzas.

The previous Guinness World record for the Most pizzas made in 24 hours was 5,000.
