Longest book domino chain: Belgium breaks Guinness World Records' record (VIDEO)
ANTWERP, Belgium -- Belgian book association Boek.be has broken the Guinness World Records' record for the longest book domino chain, in an effort to celebrate and promote reading; a total of 4,845 second-hand books smoothly tumbled, following a 614-meter-long pathway through the Antwerp book fair and spelling the Dutch words for "book," "fair," and "read" - setting the new world record for the Longest book domino chain,
according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The Guinness World Records' record for the most books donated to charity in seven days is 657,061 and was achieved by the Rotary Clubs of Jamaica.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most books exchanged in 8 hours; it is 2,868 and was achieved at an event organised by the Juvenile Welfare Centre – Abu Dhabi Police (UAE), in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

A total of 4,845 second-hand books smoothly tumbled, following a 614-meter-long pathway through the Antwerp book fair and spelling the Dutch words for "book," "fair," and "read."
The association behind the record-breaking event, Boek.be, revealed that it had taken 40 volunteers two hours to painstakingly set up the lines of books.
Once the route had been completed, the books set off fireworks.
In May, the Seattle Public Library created the world record for a domino chain with 2,131 books.
