Furthest distance run on a treadmill: UK team sets world record
LONDON, UK -- The team of 12 of teachers, students and their parents at Forest School in Forest Road, Snaresbrook, joined by Noel Thatcher, a paralympian record-breaking runner, beat the world record for the furthest distance run on a treadmill in 24 hours (by a team)
of 423km by 15km,
according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The wqorld record attempt was launched by former West Ham footballer Tony Cottee and the team ran through the night to achieve the record.
The Guinness world record for the record for the greatest distance run on a treadmill in 12 hours is 89.39 km (55.54 miles) and was set by Malcolm Smith (UK) at Fit-Stop Health Club, Sutton, Surrey, UK.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the greatest distance run by a team of twelve in 48 hours on a treadmill: 868.64 km (539.86 miles), set by Porsche Human Performance (UK) at Goodwood Speed Festival, in Goodwood, Chichester, UK.
Joined by Noel Thatcher, a paralympian record-breaking runner, the team of teachers, students and their parents kept up a minimum speed of 17.7kmph to achieve the new world record.
As well as breaking a record, the team have already raised £8,500 for the Essex Disabled Sports Foundation and the Forest School Olympic Scholarship.
