Largest piggy back race: History Maker Foundation sets world record
Colchester, UK -- History Maker Foundation organised a piggy back race with 326 people (or 123 piggy-backing pairs) competing in Lower Castle Park along a 100m (328ft) course - setting the new world record for the Largest piggy back race, according to World Record Academy (www.worldrecordacademy.com).

The Guinness world record for the largest piggy back race involved 296 participants and was achieved by Diesel (UK), as part of their 'Be Stupid' campaign, in Allen Gardens, London, UK.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the the fastest piggy back race over 100 m: 16.97 sec - set by Rommell Griffith carrying Ulinda Griffith (both Barbados) as part of the Barbados World Record Festival at the Barbados National Stadium, St Michael, Barbados.
About 330 people started the race, but two pairs were disqualified along the way for falling.
Anna Pancaldi, from the History Maker Foundation, said they were "absolutely thrilled" with the new benchmark.
She said: "We were definitely worried, because some people, I think, thought it was simply too silly, but it was brilliant fun. "But we've managed to get a really good number, which is what we wanted and we are so, so happy and a bit teary."
The inspiration for the record attempt came from a family photo of Joey Pancaldi giving his sister Charity a piggyback.
When Mr Pancaldi died in a mountaineering accident in Scotland in 2008, his family set up the History Maker Foundation to fund trips for disabled and disadvantaged children to the Compass Christian Centre in Perthshire, where he worked.
