Most expenisve bottle of wine - French wine sets world record
GENEVA, Switzerland -- An imperial-size (six-liter)bottle of Cheval Blanc 1947, a rare Bordeaux find discovered in the secret cellar of a great wine collector, sold for $304,375 Christie's said - setting the new world record for the Most expensive bottle of wine.

Equivalent to eight standard bottles of wine (6 liters), and snapped up by an anonymous collector, it was the star lot at a sale of 1,000 items, doubling the low end of its pre-sale estimate.
"Probably the only known existing 'imperial' of this wonderful Bordeaux, it sets a new world record price for a bottle of wine at auction," said Michael Ganne, an expert at the auctioneer's wine department.
According to the expert, who has had the pleasure of tasting the much coveted Saint-Emilion vintage, it was "without doubt one of greatest Bordeaux of all time, not only for its rare quality but also by its longevity, in the sense that it could be kept for another 50 years".
The name of the private collector who submitted the winning bid during the sale at Christie's for the rare Bordeaux wasn't revealed. But whoever it was went well above the $150,000 to $250,000 the auction house had estimated it would fetch, The Daily Telegraph reported.
Christie's wine expert Michael Ganne said the wine is the "only known bottle in the imperial format" for this particular Saint-Emilion vintage.
"We are absolutely delighted by the result obtained by this bottle of mythical Cheval-Blanc 1947," Ganne said.
The Guinness World record for the Largest Wine Cellar was set by the cellars at Paarl of the Ko peratiewe Wijnbouwers Vereniging, known as KWV, in Cape Province, in the centre of the wine-growing district of South Africa, which cover an area of 22 ha (54 acres) and have a capacity of 121 million litres (27 million gal).
According to Guinness World Records, Steve Klein of Klein's Designs, Encino, California, USA, produces the Smallest Bottle of Wine-Retail: hand-blown miniature wine bottles standing 3.2 cm (1.2 in) tall and with a volume of 0.75ml (0.026 fl oz). Each bottle is corked, sealed, and labeled. Limited to 1,000 bottles per type of wine, each issue is accompanied by a formal certificate. Prices currently range from $20 to $90 for a bottle of Gros Frere et Soeur 'Richebourg' which has a 24 carat Gold Seal.
