   Most dogs in costumed attire
- Scarborough dogs sets world record
Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England -- 218 dressed-up dogs attended an event in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, to show their support for England’s 2018 World Cup bid -
setting the new world record for the Most dogs in costumed attire.

   (enlarge photo)

The costume was strictly patriotic as the dogs and their owners gathered in their England shirts to show their support for England’s 2018 World Cup bid.

The previous Guinness World Record for the Most dogs in costumed attire was 208 costumed dogs through the “Bark in the Park” event in New York.

The retail team at the Pets at Home store in Seamer Road teamed up with the Scarborough Open Air Theatre in a successful bid to break the Guinness World Record for most dogs in costume attire.

Store manager Mike Southwick said: "It will take a while to get the record officially verified." [we know that, see our Testimonials]

"We have to collect evidence including statements and media coverage before that can happen. But we had a great response from the public and we are delighted to break the record as well as raising almost £1,000 for the Support Adoption for Pets charity."

"We'd like to thank everyone who attended as well as Yorkshire Coast Dog Rescue, Cliff Top Kennels and the Greyhound Trust for supporting the event."
