CHICAGO, USA -- Chicago-based cologne company Fargginay Inc. has launched a new unisex scent named Bacôn, that smells like...bacon, containing 11 essential oils, flowers and herbs mixed in with a hint of bacon , setting the world record for the First bacon-scented perfume.

The Guinness world record for the Most expensive perfume was set by the Clive Christian No.1 for Men or No.1 for Women - 30 ml (1 fl oz) of which typically costs $2,355.

Guinness World Records also recognized a four minute feature film made by director Baz Lurhmann (Australia) advertising Chanel No. 5 perfume as the world's most expensive TV advertisement costing £18 million ($33 million) to produce.

The aptly name fragrance, Bacôn, is produced by the company Fargginay and was actually produced almost a hundred years ago.

According to the company's website, the scent is a "secret recipe blending 11 popular pure essential oils with the essence of...bacon."

"A person's sense of smell is intricately linked to human memory, profoundly influencing people's ability to recall past experiences" commented the brand founder, John Leydon. "These high quality fragrances are designed to trigger pleasant memories and they do it in a very subtle way."

As far as the difference between the two fragrances, bacon Classic is best characterized as a spicy maple aroma and bacon Gold, a memorable sizzling citrus.

Each of the fragrances can be purchased online at fargginay.com for $36.

The scent was accidentally created by the Parisian butcher John Farrginay (photo left ) in 1920 and was unfortunately lost when the building caught fire in 1924.

The company claims they have remade the new fragrance and are now launching a new line of unisex cologne that will make you squeal.

The fragrance is explained by the company as a complex mixture consisting of top, middle and bottom notes and the smell of bacon is wrapped somewhere in between.
The company claims that each batch is handmade and it does occasionally halt production of the fragrance due to a lack of seasonally ready ingredients.
