Most consecutive pirouettes: Sophia Lucia smash Guinness world record (VIDEO)
POWAY, CA, USA -- During an event sponsored by Kids Artistic Revue and California Kisses and held at her home studio, San Diego Dance Center, Dance Moms TV Star & 10 year old Dance Prodigy, Sophia Lucia, managed 47 pirouettes on the first attempt, 48 on the second and a whopping 55 pirouettes on the third, final attempt, setting the new world record for the Most consecutive pirouettes - contemporary dance,
according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The Guinness world record for the most consecutive pirouettes - contemporary dance - was achieved by Sophia Lucia (USA) completing 55 pirouettes at the San Diego Dance Center in Poway, California, USA.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most grandes pirouettes a la seconde in 30 seconds (female); it was 50 and was achieved by Alicia Clifton (USA) on the set of Zheng Da Zong Yi - Guinness World Records Special in Beijing, China.
The previous Guinness world record was 36 pirouettes held by Alicia Clifton at Applause Studio in Oklahoma.
A pirouette is a French word in ballet meaning "to whirl about."
Sophia Lucia managed 47 pirouettes on the first attempt, 48 on the second and 55 pirouettes on the third. She would have won on the first try.
"The other two tries put the icing on the cake," The Examiner.com reported.
