Most consecutive high dives: Dennis Bettin breaks Guinness world record
COLOGNE, Germany -- Twenty five-year-old Dennis Bettin is a student at the German Sport University in Cologne who dived 714 times from a three-metre-high diving board, setting the world record for the Most consecutive high dives,
according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The Guinness world record for the longest open saltwater SCUBA dive was 48 hr 8 min 17 sec by William Goodman (UK) at Blue Marlin Dive, Lombok, Indonesia.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most consecutive dives in wave formation; it is 4,725 and was achieved by Maik Neubert and AOK - Die Gesundheitskasse für Niedersachsen (Germany) in Wilhelmshaven, Germany.
Originally a long distance runner, Bettin moved onto the more thrilling side of sport after "at some point, it became too boring and repetative."
He admitted to having simply opened the Guiness Book of World Records and "had a look and a think about which record I could beat," The Local.de reported.
"There were a lot of possibilities," he added. Although, the diving stunt was not the first extreme activity he had given a go. In December Bettin tried to walk five kilometres barefoot at a Hamburg indoor ski slope.
