The Guinness World Records' record for the most people making sandwiches simultaneously is 1,363 and was achieved by TangoTab and Friends (USA), at the Hilton Anatole Dallas in Dallas, Texas, USA, on 22 February 2014.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most sandwiches made in one hour; it is 20,975 and was achieved by Youth Central & Cenovus Energy Inc. (both Canada) in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on 1 October 2014.

The previous Guinness World Records world record for the most expensive sandwich commercially available was von Essen Platinum Club Sandwich, created by Chef Daniel Galmiche (UK) and is available on the menu of Cliveden, Buckinghamshire, UK for £100 ($200). The sandwich was added to the menu in March 2007.

Owner/founder, Stephen Bruce, can now add this record to his wall filled with Guinness Records for menu items such as the Most Expensive Ice Cream Sundae, Most Expensive Hot Dog, Largest Hot Chocolate and the Most Expensive Burger, many of which he donates the profits to local charities.

This time, it's a grilled cheese. "Grilled cheese is the ultimate comfort food and this grilled cheese is the ultimate grilled cheese sandwich!" exclaims Bruce, explaining the sandwich created by chef Joe Calderone.

It starts with two thick slices of French Pullman Champagne Bread –made with Dom Perignon champagne and 24k edible gold flakes and buttered with thick layers of grass-fed white truffle butter.
Thick slices of rare Caciocavallo Podolico cheese – made in southern Italy from the milk of the Podolica cow, who graze free-range, feeding on strongly aromatic grasses such as fennel, licorice, juniper, laurel bay and wild strawberries: Infusing the milk with these sweet aromatic perfumes.

There are only about 25,000 of these special cows and they only lactate during May & June, making this cheese one of the finest and rarest in the world!

The sandwich is then toasted in a Panini maker until golden crisp and cut into triangles, the edges of the sandwich gilded in 24k edible gold.

The sandwich is served on a Baccarat crystal "Mille Nuits" plate with a Baccarat "Vega" glass filled with South African Lobster Tomato Bisque as a dipping sauce, swirled with creme fraiche and truffle oil.

This bisque is made with San Marzano tomatoes from Italy and South African Lobster Tails from legendary seafood purveyors M. Slavin & Sons – known for selling the best fish in the world.
