MEXICO CITY, Mexico -- More than 50 chefs worked together during the celebration of the "Día Más Rico"; they used bread, ham, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and a lot of Hellmann's Light mayonnaise to create a 53 meter-long sandwich wich sets the world record for the Longest 'classic' sandwich.

The Guinness world record for the largest open sandwich was a barbecue pork bun weighing 606.45 kg (1,337 lb) which was prepared by Moore's BBQ (USA) in New Bern, North Carolina, USA.
Guinness World Records also recognized the largest sandwich: it weighed 5,440 lb (2,467.5 kg) and was made by Wild Woody's Chill and Grill, Roseville, Michigan, USA.
A Public Notary measured the sandwich and certified that the work of the fifty chefs was a new world record: 53 meters of bread, ham, lettuce, cheese and a lot of mayonnaise.
Once this record was set and the longest sandwich in the world was built, everyone got the chance to enjoy a piece of it.
The chefs were kind enough to share a piece of the longest sandwich ever made to everyone there who had a first hand taste at the wonderful flavor of Hellmann's Light.
With this initiative, the trademark (Hellmann's Light®) reinforces its commitment to the values of social union, family sharing, as well as a healthy, nutritious and vital style of life, without having to sacrifice the intense flavors of Mexican food.
