The Guinness world record for the highest trampoline bounce (team) is 6.72 meters (22 ft 0.52 in), achieved by jumper Sean Kennedy and propellers Nathan Gibeault and Andrew Muzzarelli (all USA), in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most consecutive somersaults on a trampoline; it is 3,333 and was set by Brian Hudson (UK) at Jumpers Rebound Centre, Gillingham, Kent, UK.

The previous Guinness world record was set in Australia in 2009, with 287 people taking part in the jump attempt.

The stunt was organised as part of the Olympic Torch relay celebrations when the flame passed through Loughborough University last year.

Becky White, from onesixeight fitness, who is a former student of the university, was the organiser of the world record attempt.

Becky says: "I am so proud that we set a world record. It was a fun event to manage and I was really pleased that so many people came along to take part. The sight of more than 300 people bouncing in the centre of campus was amazing. A big thank you – and congratulations – to everyone!"
