Fastest Desktop Color Printer: HP breaks Guinness world record

PALO ALTO, CA, USA -- HP announced the worldwide release of the new HP Officejet Pro X, which features energy- and waste-saving features and best-in-class supplies and
can deliver high-quality professional documents at up to 70 pages per minute (ppm), making it the fastest desktop printer, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.fastest desktop color printer world record set by HP Officejet Pro Xcom/.

Guinness World Records recognized the world record for the fastest time to print 500 sheets by a colour desktop printer: 7 min 19.25 sec - achieved by the Hewlett-Packard Officejet Pro X576dw All-in-One device in Vancouver, Washington, USA.

The Guinness world record for the Oldest printing and publishing house was set by Cambridge University Press, which was founded on a royal charter granted to the University by Henry VIII in 1534 and has been operating continuously as a printer and publisher since the first Press book was printed in 1584.

HP is capable of reaching those speed because they use a technology called Page-wide, which reduced the amount of motion that need to happen during the printing process.
With Page-wide, HP can print a page in a single pass, while regular Inkjet printers have to perform a classic back and forth motion for each printed line.

"Small and medium-sized business (SMB) customers constantly look for ways to save money and do more with less," said Stephen Nigro, senior vice president, Inkjet and Printing Solutions and Graphics Solutions Business, Printing and Personal Systems Group, HP.

"The new HP Officejet Pro X Series is an ideal solution that delivers professional printing at a faster rate and cheaper cost than laser printers, while generating significantly less waste."
