The Guinness world record for the largest Superman dance involved 369 participants and was achieved by William Edwards School and Sports College (UK) in Grays, Essex, UK.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the Largest Mambo dance, set by 3,868 people who danced to Pérez Prado's Mambo No. 5 for five minutes on 19 October 2000 at Palau Sant Jordi, Barcelona, Spain.
Head teacher Sarah Graham said the school's efforts have not only landed them a place in the Book of World Records, but has raised more than £5,000 for the charity Mencap.
According to The Ripley and Heanor News, senior fundraiser Marie Brown of Mencap said: "Instead of the traditional boring stuff , we wanted something that would be fun to do – and give them the chance to be a world record holder.
"Just look at them, they had such fun, everyone really engaged in it - we wanted to give them something really special."
