The Guinness World Records' record for the most people playing dominoes simultaneously is 3,344 in an event organised by Luis Alberto Ramirez Feliz (Dominican Republic) in Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional, Dominican Republic.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the Most dominoes toppled by a group; it is is 4,345,027 and was achieved on set of Domino Day 2008 in Leeuwarden, Netherlands.

The record-breaking attempt took 7.5 hours of work, preceded by months of planning the most stable using computer modelling.

Tom Holmes spent months planning the project with Roland Trim, a colleague at design and engineering consultancy firm Arup.

The final result was 20cm taller than the previous Guinness World Records' record holder and would tower above the average double decker bus by over a metre.

The pair have now set their sights on breaking their own record by attempting to build a 6m domino tower.
