Biggest peace dove: Dubai breaks Guinness world record
DUBAI, UAE -- A 19x19-metre white peace dove, made of 1.2 million buttons in the colours of the UAE flag was completed in Dubai; it was sponsored by Emaar Properties and is spearheaded by Iraqi extreme sportsman Captain Fareed Lafta, 33, a goodwill ambassador and peace-campaigner who roped in Dubai's school children from March 2 to build the dove over seven days, the work sets the new world record for the Biggest peace dove,

The Guinness world record for the Youngest Nobel Peace Prize Winner was sset by Rigoberta Menchú Tum (Guatemala), born in 1959, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, "in recognition of her work for social Justice and ethnocultural reconciliation based on respect for the rights of indigenous people." At age 33, she was the first indigenous and the youngest person ever to receive this honour.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the oldest caged dove, set by Methuselah, a white, male collared dove who was born in April 1975 and last examined in October 2004, aged 19 years 6 months.
The world's biggest peace dove, made of 1.2 million buttons, is now complete, the state news agency Wam, says. The design, by Iraqi-born expatriate Fareed Lafta, was displayed at the Burj Khalifa.

In April 2012, the Dubai Sports Council and "Peace and Sport, l'Organisation pour la Paix par le Sport" formed a strategic alliance to make sport a driving force for development, education, social cohesion and peace in the entire Middle East region and further afield.
