The previous Guinness world record for the most cars performing donuts simultaneously is 57 and was achieved by drivers of the Queensland Raceway (Australia) at the Queensland Raceway in Willowbank, Australia.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most consecutive donuts (spins) in a car: 280, achieved by Jamie Morrow (UK) driving a Westfield Sport 1600 at the Silverstone Race Circuit in Bedfordshire, UK.
Seventy-five cars performed simultaneous donuts for more than 15 seconds, breaking the previous world record of 57 cars, which was set in Queensland, Australia.
The cars were piloted by drifters from across Northern California who participate in the raceway's weekly Sonoma Drift powered by NOS program.
The program, which is in its second year, provides drifters a safe, legal and controlled environment in which to hone their skills.
More than 300 fans were on hand to witness the record breaking attempt, which took place in the raceway's main paddock under cloudy skies. All drifters and spectators were admitted free into the raceway.
