The Guinness world record for the largest bag of chips weighed 368.5 kg (812.4 lb) and was made by Alan Williams of Mr Chips, Hereford, UK.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest serving of baked potatoes is 1,116 kg (2,460 lb 5.76 oz) and was achieved by the shopping center El Mirador, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain.
The event dubbed the ``World's Largest French Fry Feed'' is held during the annual Potato Bowl week that celebrates the potato industry in the Red River Valley.
During the World's Largest French Fry Feed 5,010 pounds of fries were served, breaking the 2008 world record by 120 pounds.
About 10,000 people chowed down.
Scott Lund from the J.R. Simplot Company organizes the french fry feed each year.
The J.R. Simplot Company furnishes all the french fries, oil, and condiments, along with volunteer help to run the event.
"The Potato Bowl is part of our history," said Potato Bowl organizer Michael Elsberry. "It's not only about the football game but a celebration of the fall harvest season."
Elsberry is the Jaycee's Potato Bowl Parade Chair. Events such as the world's largest french fry feed, fireworks and a parade are held during the week of the Potato Bowl.
