The previous Guinness world record for the largest bottle of whiskey contained 184 litres (40.47 gal, 48.61 US gal) and was created by Jack Daniel's (USA) and presented at South Street Seaport in New York, New York, USA.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest spirit tasting was achieved by 2,252 participants in an event organised by Whisky Unlimited in Gent, Belgium.
The bottle was handmade in the Czech Republic by glass manufacturers BOMMA and has travelled more than 1,200 miles from Svetla, near Prague.
The World's Largest Bottle of Whisky will be on permanent display at The Famous Grouse Experience at the Glenturret Distillery in Crieff, Perthshire.
Glen Gribbon, director of The Famous Grouse, said: "We have been gearing towards this momentous day for a long time and it's been extremely nerve-wracking for all involved. We are so thrilled to bring this record to the home of Scotch whisky and are relieved that it's now official - we have the biggest bottle of whisky in the world!
"The largest bottle of whisky in the world will now be displayed at The Famous Grouse Experience so fans can visit and see the bottle for themselves.
