Most people crammed into an Volkswagen Up: VW Belgium sets world record
BRUSSELS, Belgium -- 16 people came together and managed to sit in the Volkswagen Up - setting the new world record for the Most people crammed into an Volkswagen UP, according to World Record Academy (www.worldrecordacademy.com).

The Guinness world record for the Largest parade of Volkswagen (VW) cars was set by 2,728 VW Beetles took part in a parade organised by the Volkswagen Aficionado Club of Brazil on a race track near Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest car mosaic, created with 460 Volkswagen cars in an event organized by Volkswagen do Brasil Indústria de Veículos Automotores Ltda at the Anhembi Parque in São Paulo, Brazil.
"VW broke records! 16 people came together and managed to sit in the Up. The record was certified by the Guinness Book of Records. Do you do better," wrote VW Belgium, challenging its followers.

The feat eventually saw 16 people, in this case 15 women and a man, finding their way into the car – two in the boot, one on the dashboard, seven on the rear bench, four on the front seats, and two in the footwells, before the boot lid and doors were shut and the windows were closed.
VW unveiled Up as a concept at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show. It's the company's smallest model. It focuses on city driving for urban dwellers.
Up is ready for production and the price is about 13,500 U.S. dollars. VW has revealed that an innovative financing solutions will be rolled out to help the overseas buyers. The plan is called AutoCredit2.
This is not VW's first World Record. Some of them include Longest Single-Model Vehicle Parade, Longest Journey by Car Using Alternative Fuel and Volkswagen Beetle being the best-selling car of a single design.
