The
previous Guinness world record for the Largest
Parade of BMW Motorcycles was set by Grass Roots BMW
in Cape Girardeau, MO.
"We made it by the skin of our teeth," organizer
Todd Trumbore said.
The World's
Largest Parade of BMW Motorcycles has raised nearly
$2,000 for the Pediatric Cancer Center at St. Jude's Hospital
in Memphis, Tenn., according to Trumbore, a Harleysville resident.
He said he spent weeks organizing the event,
which included the cooperation of four police departments,
but made a final push after the Guinness World Records book
sanctioned the ride.
"It was a lot of work," Trumbore said.
"The final two weeks, I was really
scrambling to find riders. I didn't think we would make it."
Bob Jones, proprietor of Montgomeryville
Cycle Center and America's newest BMW dealer, has
graciously offered to host this event as well as provide food,
drinks, door prozes and a 15% discount on all parts and accessories.
