“The idea of creating the largest thobe in the world occurred to me for several reasons. I wanted to give my appreciation to Jeddah. Jeddah has now been mentioned once more in the Book of World Recordss. We at Lomar are happy we have been a part of this,” said Lomar’s owner Loai Naseem.

“The thobe took nearly two months and more than 20 tailors to make. It will be cut into smaller dresses and thobes and will be donated to local charities,” he added.

“This is the first time Lomar has held an international event and it won’t be the last time,” said Naseem.

Tafaseel LLC, owner of the trademarked brand “Lomar”, recently celebrated “The World's Largest Thobe” in Red Sea Mall, one of the largest mall in Jeddah, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Fahd bin Meshari bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, as well as a large crowd of visitors ,media and TV channels.

Loai Naseem, the co-founder and CEO of Lomar, said” we thought of doing this for several reasons, one is to say thank you for our city, and to do our part of social responsibility by making new Thobes out of the Largest Thobe in the world and donating them to the charity institution in Jeddah”.

Mr. Naseem added “ this is our first major event internationally, and not be the last, we still have more to come for this year and the years to come, he also thanks Clorox, the orphans charity institution , and red sea mall for support that.

His Royal Highness Prince Fahd bin Meshari bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, has praised this act, and said” we are pleased to see the people of this country work hard to place Saudi Arabia on the top in all fields. The Kingdom will always have bright image around the world”

Founded in 2002 from their home living room, the initial concept was started by Loai Nassem and his wife, Ms. Mona Al-Haddad, who building upon their passion for design, wanted to introduce fashion sense and creativity into traditional Saudi attire. They strove to create a new level of style by reinventing traditional norms and transforming them into bold and dynamic fashion statements.

In 2005, was the opening of a first retail location in the Al Rawdah District in Jeddah, the formal launch of the Lomar brand.

Since inception, Lomar has become a pioneer in the traditional Saudi men’s apparel market, winning a loyal fan base and receiving multiple accolades, including wining Saudi Fast Growth Startup 100 List twice.

Headquartered in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with additional outlets in Riyadh and Al Khobar, Lomar is in the process of completing the construction of a new centralized production facility that will allow it to enter a period of rapid growth.

The Lomar thobe has broken two previous Guinness world records, the first by a UAE designer and the second by a Palestinian designer in 2009.
