The Guinness world record for the largest cupcake weighs 596.47 kg (1315.2 lb) and was achieved by Global TV Concepts (USA).

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest cupcake mosaic; it measures 110.60 m² (1,190 ft² 70.34 in²), and was achieved by Ayer Rajah Community Centre Youth Club (Singapore).

Standing more than 3.5 metres tall, the Tallest cake stand boasted an impressive array of 1000 cupcakes, 600 petit fours and 400 biscuits.

''There was a London cupcake stand that was 2.7 metres high and only had 850 cupcakes on it. Our record will be darn hard to beat,'' 42-year-old Fiona Kirk said.

Mrs Kirk, who works as an executive assistant for social research company Colmar Brunton, said she made the cake stand at home with help from her husband Travis, The Canberra Times reported.

''I started to organise the high tea and it just got bigger and bigger,'' she said. ''I'm not an event organiser but it grew and grew to having about 200 people buy tickets, which have completely sold out.''

Mrs Kirk said she had received support from fashion experts at Rockstars and Royalty and Alice be Curious and from Bond Hair Religion for the fashion shows.

It is believed between $5000 to $8000 was collected for Habitat for Humanity during the six-hour event held in Tuggeranong which included fashion parades, The Canberra Times reports.

Any leftover food was given to Yellow Van Food Rescue.
