Largest crab cake: Handy International breaks own world record
TIMONIUM, MD, USA -- Handy International broke their own Record for World's Largest Crab Cake with a 300-pound collosal crab cake cooked in the Maryland State Fair's Park,
according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The Guinness world record for the largest crab cake weighed 114.75 kg (253 lb) and was made by Special Olympics Maryland in conjunction with Handy International and Graul's Market (all USA) in Hampden, Maryland, USA.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the Largest collection of crabs, set by Darren Martin (UK), who has a collection of 441 crab-related items, that he has been collecting for over 10 years.
The World's Largest Crab Cake was made with 200-pounds of crab meat picked fresh on Maryland's Smith Island, and a combination of eggs, breading and special seasoning mixture that held the cake together.
The largest crab cake in the world was cooked in a rotisserie style cooker designed by Handy Seafood's Jim Cupp.
Cooking began at 2 a.m. and the colossal crab cake was ready at Noon.
Crab Cake sandwiches served on buns donated by Maryland State Fair sponsor Schmidt's Baking Company were sold for $8 each with proceeds benefiting the Maryland 4-H Foundation.
According to their website, the MD 4-H Foundation has a mission to build and manage the financial resources to support Maryland youth in reaching their fullest potential as competent, caring, responsible individuals through 4-H programs.
Handy International is a family-owned company and is America's oldest seafood processor. Products include soft crabs, crab meat, crab cakes, crab specialty items, oysters and artisanal fish.
