The Guinness world record for the most runners in an ultra marathon is 14,343 and was achieved by participants of the Comrades Marathon, which is an event organised by the Comrades Marathon Association (South Africa), and was run on a route from Pietermaritzburg to Durban, South Africa.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most consecutive days running an ultra marathon: seven, set by Enzo Caporaso (Italy) in Turin, Italy, from 13-19 June 2010. Six of the races were 100 km (62.14 mi) races in Ruffini Park and the seventh was a 100 km race from Turin to Saint Vincent, all sanctioned by the Italian Athletics Federation.
He run at the North Pole, at the Australian Outback Marathon, at the Eurasia Marathon, Antarctic Ice Marathon, went to Africa for the Sahara Marathon, then moved up to the Everest Marathon.
Andrei Rosu's latest marathons were in New Zealand and Brazil. The 53-km route in New Zealand took him 7 hours and 49 minutes to complete, while the 50-km one in Brazil was done in 5 hours and 22 minutes.

Andrei, an economist by profession, wants to climb the Everest, cross Africa by bike, sail around the world and cross Asia in a balloon, he says in an interview with romania-insider.com.
"I love dreaming big and planning into detail. This is a tested way to do great things. I also dream of climbing Everest and crossing Africa by bike. And sailing around the world. And crossing Asia in a balloon. And many other adventures…," says Andrei.
He is an active fundraiser, supports 3 foundations (Hospice Casa Sperantei, Mia's Children and 'Save Lives') and half of his earnings from public speaking in corporate events are diverted to charity. Andrei is also involved in educational programs and attended pro bono several university and schools events.
His future athletic plans include organizing a mass-running competition on Transfagarasan (June 2012) and another national first: in February 2013, Andrei will attend Double Iron, an ultra triathlon – 7.6 km swimming, 360 km biking and 84 km running.
