The Guinness world record for the largest serving of pastries was achieved during the event Életfa-Hosök tornája with 10,000 pastries at the Puskas Stadium in Budapest, Hungary.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest rice cake; it weighed 3.68 tonnes (8,113 lb) and was made by Kwak Sungho and staff of Han Bbang (South Korea) at the 12th World Rice Food Festival, Dongjin-gun, Chungnam, South Korea.

The world's largest polvoron was 5 meters (16.25 feet) long and 2.40 meters wide and weighed 300 kilos (660 pounds).

A total of 120 kilos of wheat flour, 75 kg of almonds, 50 kg of sugar, 50 kg of lard and 5 kg of cinnamon were used in its preparation, the factory manager, Jose Luis Olmedo, told Efe.

The pastry could not be made any larger because "it wouldn't fit" into the truck that was to be used to transport it, Olmedo said.

Pastry is the name given to various kinds of baked products made from ingredients such as flour, sugar, milk, butter, shortening, baking powder, and/or eggs. Small tarts and other sweet baked products are called "pastries."

A polvorón (From polvo, the Spanish word for powder, or dust) is a type of heavy, soft and very crumbly Spanish shortbread made of flour, sugar, milk, and nuts. Polvorones are popular in all Spain and ex-Spanish colonies in Latin America, as well as the Philippines, during the Christmas period.
