Longest Distance Skated on the Road-Abhishek
Navale sets world record
BELGAUM, India -- Six-year-old Abhishek
Navale has skated 335.54 miles (540 km) from Bangalore
to Belgaum within six days-setting the world record for the
Longest
Distance Skated on the Road(for under 8 years
olds).

, DHARWAD- and met different peoples on road and the people
greeted me and wished me to get success."
Abhishek, who is in the second standard
at A.V. H. English Medium School, is a member of the Belgaum
Roller Skating Academy where he trains with coach Suyakant
Hindalgekar.
He has been awarded the “Bal Pratibha Puraskar
2009” and has skated 540 km from Bangalore to Belgaum in six
days. He has also participated in several skating rallies
aimed at spreading awareness on issues ranging form AIDS to
blood donation.
His parents, Sanjay and Sujata Nalvale,
said that Abhishek was dedicated to his studies and skating
and worked hard to achieve his goals.
According to his coach Suryakant Hindalgekar,
Abhishek has strong willpower and can accomplish feats
which many people consider impossible.
His parents are now busy trying to find
sponsors so that he can study and continue to train in skating.
“In fact we have just submitted an application to the Chief
Minister,” says Sanjay Navale, his father who works as a bus
conductor with the North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation.
