The Guinness World Records' record for the largest tea bag weighs 250 kg (551 lb 2.56 oz) and was created by Ahmed Mohamed Saleh Baeshen & Co., owner of Rabea Tea, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on 20 September 2014.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest ceramic teapot; it is 1.8 m (5 ft 10 in) in height and 1.5 m (4 ft 11 in) in diameter and was designed and fabricated by Sanbao Xu (China) in Yixing, Jiangsu Province, China, in February 2006, for Lu'an Guapian Tea Co. Ltd of Anhui province. The teapot is made if purple sand and can hold 10 kg (22 lb) of tea each time. The cover of the pot weighs 60 kg (132 lb).

Estate owner, Hon. Evelyn Boscawen, told the Western Morning News: "The invention was something of a combined operation, but I've always had mad ideas. At the same time I've always been keen to find somewhere to hide away at the Royal Cornwall, and this is the perfect answer.

"I passionately believe in trying to create activity in this county - activity is the key word for me," said Mr Boscawen, whose Cornish estate has become famous for being the first business to produce British tea on a commercial basis.

"We are doing something positive with our tea, which people love," said Mr Boscawen. "We are creating employment and putting ourselves in a world market place."
