Largest Secret Santa exchange-world record
set by Boots
BEESTON, Nottingham, UK -- MORE than 1,200 people,
staff at Boots,
turned into secret Santas and exchanged their gifts, setting the world record for the Largest
secret Santa exchange.

were determined to create a new World Record and make the
event the largest
secret Santa exchange ever.
Leanne Wells, the Christmas advertising manager
at Boots,
said: "We have been doing secret Santa for years here but
never on this scale. "It has been amazing and everyone has
really come together for the festive spirit. "It bowled me
over the amount of people that supported this."
All staff taking part in the event squeezed
into the main corridor of the building to exchange their gifts.
Preparations for the event started about a
month ago, with teams organising who was buying for each other
between themselves.
The basic budget was £5 and some teams decided to bring
their own variations to the event – one deciding that each
gift must be something people can wear.
Gary Burton was one of two official adjudicators
required at the event. He said: "It went very well. Everyone
seemed really happy and it was nice to be asked to adjudicate
something unique like this."
Staff at Boots doubled the amount of people needed
to get into the record books- the previous world record for
the most
secret Santa presents exchanged was 618.
