The Guinness World Records' record for the youngest radio presenter is Kimberley Perez (b. 20 February 1998) (USA) who hosts a show every Saturday 3-7pm, on KLAX 97.9 La Raza FM, in Los Angeles, California, USA, which started when she was 5 years old.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the Youngest person to discover an asteroid, set by 18-year old Luigi Sannino (Italy); using telescopes at Monte Viseggi Observatory, La Spezia, Italy, the young Sannino and observing colleague P. Pietrapiana tracked the course of the asteroid now named 12575 Palmaria (1999 RH1) by the International Astronomical Union's Minor Planet Centre. ACCA candidates generally start their qualification journey at the age of 18.
The examinations are split into three levels namely - The Knowledge module, Skills module and the Professional module totally making 14 papers. These papers are attempted over a span of three years.
Raman who wore the same clothes and had the same diet before every exam, has become the youngest CA to be recognised by the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA), which is the global governing body for professional CAs.
A graduate from The Indian High School, Dubai, Raman calls himself a 'vegetarian foodie'. "I am not sure if such a thing exists," said the 18-year-old Indian boy. "I love playing basketball. And I think I am kind of a geek when it comes to Star Wars. I am sort of addicted to every kind of television show that exists," he said.
Founded in 1904, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants is the global professional accounting body offering the Chartered Certified Accountant qualification.
Raman said his family was the main driving support through the whole journey. "They were there for me constantly - from teaching me, to making coffee when ever I struggled to stay awake. My friend Namit Pandit who has also given the ACCA was also a great help," he said.
"We didn't realise he has so much potential," said his father Raman Venkitachalam. "Basically he is very intelligent, but it is only recently that he has taken off so well in his studies. I am incredibly proud of both my sons."
Kamala Raman, Raman's mother said he always managed to balance fun and studies. "We were, in fact, worried that he wasn't studying enough. Hhis hard work has paid off. Along with his dad's guidance, his brother's mentorship, and God's grace, he has managed to succeed," she said.
However, there were certain rituals and superstitions Raman followed before the examinations. "In terms of a diet, I would eat everything I could get my hands on, before the exams which probably ended up being around 7 to 8 meals a day. And, I would wear the same shirt, pant, vest, socks and shoes for every ACCA exam I wrote right from December 2012 till June 2015. I would also eat the same type of curries and rice with potatoes right before every single ACCA exam," he said.
