The Guinness World Records' record for the longest line of bowls of noodles consists of 3,000 bowls and was achieved at an event organised by Yunnan Folk Dance Promotion Association of Taoyuan County (Chinese Taipei) in Longang, Taoyuan County, Chinese Taipei, on 10 April 2014.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest serving of noodles; it weighed 4,171.7 kg (9,197 lb) and was made by PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk (Indonesia) at Semarapura, Bali, Indonesia, on 10 February 2005. 27,700 SuperMi instant noodle blocks were prepared on 84 stoves by 325 people in 23 minutes before being served in a giant stainless steel bowl, and consumed by local residents.
The event was the brainchild of the "Kokura Yakiudon World Record Attempt Executive Committee," which was jointly formed by the Kita-Kyushu city government and local groups.
Seventy or so cooks began to fry the udon noodles around 10 a.m., and some 200 volunteers placed the bowls on a special counter set up to accommodate the feat.
Three hours later, an official record adjudicator declared that the world record consisting of 3,150 bowls had been achieved.
After the record was recognized, the yakiudon was distributed to spectators.
