Largest ice cream tub: Iran breaks Guinness world record
TEHRAN, Iran --
An Iranian dairy company, Choopan, unveiled a five-ton tub of chocolate ice cream in Tehran; it measured 1.6-meters (five feet) by two meters (seven feet) and producers say cost over $30,000 to make; it also sets the new world record for the Largest ice cream tub,

The Guinness world record for the largest cup of ice cream weighed 8,865 lb (4,021 kg) and was made by Baskin-Robbins at their headquarters in Canton, Massachusetts, USA.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest ice cream cake; it weighed 10.13 tonnes (22,333.6 lb) and was achieved by Dairy Queen Canada at Yonge-Dundas Square in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
"We finished making the ice cream on Sunday, and it took us eight hours to fill the tub," Khashayar Baheri, CEO of Choopan told AFP.
The company, Choopan, put the giant tub, which is more than two meters (6.5 feet) wide and 1.60 meters (5.2 feet) tall on display at a ski resort in the foothills of Tochal, just north of the capital, where over 10,000 people came to see it.
Board Member Mohammad Baheri of Choopan Dairy said the company aimed to register a new World Record and also boost Iranian ice cream consumption.
Iranians eat an average 1.5 kilograms (3.3. lb) of ice cream per year.
