The Guinness World Records' record for the longest uninterrupted live webcast is 48 hours, and was achieved by Sue Maynard and Timothy D. Rideout (both Canada), for their podcast series The Mind Reels, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, from 7-9 November 2014.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest audience for a live-streamed reading marathon; it is 61,364 people, and was achieved by Google Russia (Russia) who organized the reading of the novel "Anna Karenina" by Leo Tolstoy on 3-4 October 2014.

LiveU supplied 138 units for the coverage, including comprehensive testing, to help Sky News produce what it described as "the most ambitious and wide-ranging [election] results service available."

Sky News described its coverage at the time as "the most ambitious and wide-ranging results service available and will ensure customers have the most up-to-date information as it happens." This included a specially created studio at Sky News' Osterley location.

LiveU is a provider of IP-based live video services and broadcast solutions. The Sky units were controlled by LiveU Central – LiveU's unified, cloud-based management platform.

Samuel Wasserman, LiveU CEO, said, "We were already proud that Sky News, one of the world's leading news operations, chose LiveU as a key technology partner for the UK general elections. We are even prouder now following the tremendous success on election night and Sky News winning a world record. There are not many that can say that and it's a true indication of the way that cellular bonding has changed live video acquisition forever."

LiveU cellular bonding technology has been employed in elections coverage around the world, including last year's Indian general election as well as those in Sri Lanka and also the 2015 Greek election.
