Most Languages Sung during one Concert: world record set by Suchetha Satish (VIDEO)
DUBAI, UAE -- Suchetha Satish, a 12-year-old grade 7 student of the Indian High School, Dubai, has established a new world record for the Most languages sung during one concert, at the Indian Consulate Auditorium, Dubai, on the 25th of January 2018, after she sang one song each in 102 languages in a concert titled 'Music Beyond Boundaries,"according to the World Record Academy. The event was hosted by the Indian People's Forum under the patronage of the Consulate General of India.
The GUINNESS WORLD RECORD (TM) for the most languages sung during one concert is 76, achieved by Dr. Kesiraju Srinivas a.k.a Ghazal Srinivas, at the Gandhi Hills, Andhra Pradesh, India from 2-3 June 2008.
GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS (TM) also recognized the world record for the song sung in the most languages by one individual; it is 'Golden Dreams of Gandhiji' by Dr. Kesiraju Srinivas, a.k.a. Ghazal Srinivas (India), who recorded the track in 125 different languages and released it as a double CD album entitled 'The Path of Mahatma Gandhi' on 2 December 2009.
"It was the perfect gift twelve-year-old Suchetha Satish could give her country on the eve of the Indian Republic Day by breaking the world record of singing in over 100 languages at a concert held at the Indian Consulate Auditorium, Dubai," The Khaleej Times reports. "She began singing at 4.10pm and tirelessly finished her non-stop singing marathon by 10.30pm. In the concert that lasted for six hours and 15 minutes, the child prodigy sang song after song in 102 languages, stunning the audience including Indian diplomats, her friends, teachers and well-wishers, including singers and doctors.
The event was attended by Consul General of India Shri Vipul, other Consuls from CGI Dubai and Event organizers from Indian People's Forum Mr. Bhupendra Kumar and Mr. Girisg Pant. Music Expert Mrs. Sujata Harish Kumar was also at the venue to witness. (enlarge photo)
Amidst thunderous applause Suchetha dedicated the award to the PM of UAE HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and PM of India Shri Narendra Modi and to Indians all over the world and all the people living in UAE of different nationalities.
During the concert, which lasted for 6 hours and 20 mins , she sang songs in 26 Indian languages 76 foreign languages which included most spoken languages like Mandarin , Spanish, English, Arabic, Portugese etc and less spoken like Maori, Maithili, Quechua , Kokborok etc.
She also urged the youth to take up music or sport to attain a high rather than tobacco, alcohol and drugs. Speaking on the occasion Sri Vipul said that this record is a wonderful gift on the Republic day. (enlarge photo)
Suchetha Satish is the daughter of Dr T.C Satish , Dermatologist in Dubai and Sumitha Ayilliath and is the sister of Sushant Satish.
The ability to quickly grasp and sing in different languages is her unique talent. She is also a good dancer and choreographer and several dances choreographed by her had won prizess in the interclass competitions. She has been learning music from the age of 4 and has performed on numerous stages both in UAE and Kerala,India. She is an academically brilliant student too having won the Sheikh Hamdan Award for academic excellence in the year 2013. She also plays tennis. She has a 17 year old brother who is her role model. Suchetha is also an active member and student coordinator of SWATANTARA- an Indian Consulate initiative against the menace of Tobacco, Alcohol and Drugs.
