Most dogs washed on one hour: The Barking Lot breaks Guinness world record (VIDEO)
EL CAJON, CA, USA -- The Barking Lot, an all-breed, no-kill dog shelter in the city, held a dog "washathon" called "Operation Pup Suds"; during that time, the record for most dogs washed on one hour - 250 - was set, and in the process thousands of dollars were raised for the nonprofit group, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The Guinness World Records' record for th most dogs washed in 8 hours by a team of 12 people is 1,037. It was organised by 'Dierenspeciaalzaak 't Guppy' in Ede, Netherlands.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most dogs washed in 8 hours by an individual, which is 80, by Amanda Sullivan-Webb (UK) at The College of West Anglia, Cambridgeshire, UK.
"We received just over $4,000 in pledges, which is great!" said Keyana Simone, a volunteer with the rescue group who had the idea for the wash-a-thon, The U-T San Diego reported.
"That money will go directly to new, state-of-the-art kennels we're purchasing."
She said she expects it to be an annual event.
The groups shared use of The Barking Lot's regular wash tub, which is inside the facility at 486 Raleigh Ave, and then set up mobile bathing stations in play yards outside. Peanuts Pets Services let the group borrow its mobile bathing stations for the record setting attempt.
