Largest human Christmas tree: Thailand breaks Guinness World Records' record
BANGKOK, Thailand -- One of the country's largest shopping malls arranged a publicity stunt involving 852 schoolchildren dressed in green and red hoodies to break the Guinness World Records' record for the largest human Christmas tree; they outdid a German record of 672 participants and set
the new world record for the Largest human Christmas tree,
according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The Guinness World Records' record for the largest human Christmas tree was achieved by 672 participants at an event organised E-Plus Gruppe (Germany) in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest Christmas stocking; it measured 51 m 35 cm (168 ft 5.65 in) in length and 21 m 63 cm (70 ft 11.57 in) in width (heel to toe) and was produced by the volunteer emergency services organisation Pubblica Assistenza Carrara e Sezioni (Italy) in Carrara, Tuscany, Italy.
Christmas is not a holiday in predominantly Buddhist Thailand, and its palm trees outnumber pines, but the country still set a world record with its holiday spirit.

Although Christmas does not appear on Thai calendars and is a regular workday, hotels and shopping malls decorate starting in mid-November for what is a big shopping season during Thailand's peak tourism months.
