The Guinness World Records' record for the most people wearing yukata is 2,057 and was achieved at an event organised by Dotonbori Store Association (Japan) at Dotonbori, in Osaka, Osaka, Japan, on 16 August 2015.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest gathering of dogs wearing bandanas; it is 764, achieved by RSPCA ACT (Australia), in Canberra, Australia, on 17 May 2015.

The event also celebrated the announcement of a $50,000 donation by the maker of Brawny to Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP), an organization that helps wounded servicemen and women adjust to civilian life and persevere through the visible and invisible injuries of war.

"Our Stay Giant™ campaign is about celebrating the power of communities and the resilience of Americans in overcoming life's daily challenges," said Gary Gastel, director of Brawny Paper Towels. "This event provided a fun opportunity to not only come together as a community, but to honor some of the most inspiring giants out there – our wounded service members and their families and caregivers."

"The commitment to honoring members of the Wounded Warrior Project is truly inspiring, and I was grateful to participate in yesterday's event," said Airborne Ranger Captain Bobby Woods, who accepted the check on behalf of WWP. "The Brawny team knows the true meaning of tough, and we are thankful to partner with a brand that truly supports and celebrates our servicemen and women across the country."
