 Most Chefs Gathered In One Place: WACS sets world record (Videos)

 
DAEJEON, South Korea -- World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS) announced that 2111 chefs gathered at Gapchen Waterfront Park during the WACS Congress
, setting the world record for the Most Chefs Gathered in One Place, according to World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

  The First Lady of Korea, as well as the Mayor of the Daejeon Metropolitan City also attended the event.

  "We are thrilled to set a new Guinness World Record," stated WACS President Gissur Gudmundsson.

 "Our World Congress gives our member chefs an opportunity to come together to train, network, and compete. Now we have made history in the process."

  The WACS Congress is a biennial event and hallmark tradition of WACS. Congresses have been held in over 20 cities across the world throughout its 82-year history.

  Organized by the Daejeon Metropolitan Government, this year's event is divided into the WACS Congress, events and competitions, and the ASI Congress at large.

  The Guinness world record for the First regular TV Chef was set by Marcel Boulestin (France), who begins hosting Dish of the Month (UK) on 15 October 1937.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the longest working career of a TV chef, which belongs to Eva Vicenta Uranga Roig Vda. de Zarate (Mexico) or 'Mrs Zarate' as she is known, who presented her first cookery show, Cocina Al Minuto (Televisora Tapatia, Mexico) on 1 December 1960. She currently presents the same show (under the different name) Hasta La Cocina (Televisa Guadalajara Co., Mexico) in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
  
   Founded in 1928 in Paris, France the World Association of Chefs Societies is a global network of national chefs associations from 92 countries, representing over 10 million professional chefs worldwide.

  WACS is a non-political professional organisation dedicated to maintaining and improving the culinary standards of global cuisines.
