The Guinness World Records' record for the longest pizza measures 1,595.45 m (5,234 ft 4.8 in) and was created by La Pizza+1 of Sante Ludovico, NIPfood of Dovilio Nardi and Tomato World Week 2015 (all Italy) at Milan's Expo 2015 world fair, in Milan, Italy, on 20 June 2015. Made using 1.5 tonnes of mozzarella cheese and two tonnes of tomato sauce, the pizza weighed in at 5 tons and was made in 18 hours by over 60 chefs. Over 35,000 slices were cut for visitors to the Expo.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest pizza delivery; it was organised by Pizzas 4 Patriots (USA), who sent 30,000 pizzas with DHL Express to the United States Armed Forces, in Kandahar Airfield, Bagram Airbase and Camp Bastion, Afghanistan, on 4 July 2012.

It took over 60 chefs over 18 hours to create the pizza which was unveiled at Milan's Expo 2015 world fair.
The festival, which runs from 1 May to 31 October, involves exhibits from over 140 countries which are focused on feeding the planet in a sustainable way.

The pie that took 80 of Italy's finest pizza artisans a total of 18 hours to create was no easy feat. They began by tossing 1.7 tons of dough and then slathering it with 2 tons of tomato sauce, 1.5 tons of mozzarella cheese and 330 pounds of olive oil. The 5-ton pie was then baked to crisp perfection using five ovens.

And the enormous pie didn't go to waste, as visitors to the Expo were invited to eat slices of the pizza for free.

The lengthy pizza beat the previous Guinness World Records record set at Tomelloso, Spain in 2011, which measured 1.141km.
