The Guinness World Records' record for the largest piece of bean curd weighed 3,120 kg (6,878 lb) and was made by Jiange County Government at Jiangmenguan, Sichuan, China on 28 September 2003. The giant bean curd measured 2.2 m (7 ft 2 in) long, 1.2 m (4 ft) wide and 0.9 m (3 ft) high, and was fed to approximately 20,000 people.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest cookery lesson; it is 3,687 participants and was achieved by Qingdao MIXc (China) in Qingdao, Shandong, China on 14 February 2015. The lesson taught participants how to make jiaozi (dumplings).

The festival was part of a cultural event celebrating tofu and guests were treated to a tofu feast after the bean curd was unveiled.

Huainan is said to be the home of tofu where the bean curd was invented some time during the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC-24AD).

Tofu, also known as bean curd, is a food made by coagulating soy milk and then pressing the resulting curds into soft white blocks. It is a component in East Asian and Southeast Asian cuisines.
There are many different varieties of tofu, including fresh tofu and tofu that has been processed in some way.
Tofu is bought or made to be soft, firm, or extra firm. Tofu has a subtle flavor and can be used in savory and sweet dishes. It is often seasoned or marinated to suit the dish.
