  Largest peach cobbler: Louisiana Peach Festival breaks Guinness World Records record (VIDEO)

   RUSTON, La, USA -- The Peach Festival prepared a giant peach cobbler; a Guinness World Records 'Adjudicator' weighed the cobbler and announced a final measurement of 2,251, meaning a new world record for the Largest peach cobbler, according to the World Record Academy.

  The Guinness World Records' record for the largest fruit cobbler weighed 1,021 kg (2,251 lbs) and was made by the Hampton Inn of Ruston (USA) for the 65th Annual Louisiana Peach Festival in Ruston, Louisiana, USA on 27 June 2015. The peach cobbler ingredient included 819 lbs of peaches, 312 lbs of butter, 343 lbs of flour, 73 gallons of milk, 1 lb of baking powder, 454 lbs sugar, and took 6 hours to cook.

  Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest fruit cake; it weighs 4,353 kg (9,596 lb 11 oz) and was achieved by Dr. Fabrizio Sepe (Italy) in Hodenhagen, Germany on 24 May 2014. The cake was made of strawberies, tangerines, peaches and ananas. A total of 440 trays were baked, 20 people worked 250 hours to prepare it. Measurements: length: 12 m and width: 8 m.
 
    A number of state and local politicians were on hand to enjoy the weekend's festivities.

   "This is always one of Louisiana's great festivals. We only have about 400 festivals in Louisiana, but certainly this ranks up there as one of the grand-daddy's of them all", said Lieutenant Governor Jay Dardenne.

    Louisiana Congressman Ralph Abraham was one of many who tried the giant cobbler.

   "The peach cobbler is delicious, for this amount to be this good outstanding job," says Abraham.
