Largest Urn - world record set by Richard Cohen Landscape & Construction Inc.

TUSTIN, CA, USA -- Richard Cohen Landscape & Construction, Inc. installed a 16-foot-tall black and white ceramic urn created by Denmark artist Peter Brandes at the Orange County Rescue Mission’s Village of Hope , setting the world record for the Largest Urn.

The world's largest urn is held by a stainless steel pole that is 15 feet tall and 14 inches in diameter.  The pole is attached to a footing that was sunk six feet into the ground.

Designed by Denmark artist Peter Brandes, the world's largest urn displays the 12 disciples in raised bone-colored images. It weighs 16,500 pounds and measures over 16 feet tall.

The world's largest urn appears to be floating on top of water that sits in a 10-by-10-foot base made out of black granite. The pole is disguised by flowing water out of the bottom of the urn so that the illusion can be made that the urn is floating, symbolizing Jesus walking on water in the Bible.

“Thanks to Richard Cohen and his company, the residents at the Village of Hope have a gorgeous symbol of peace and tranquility,” said Mission Vice President John Luker.

The structure was paid for by the Howard and Roberta Ahmanson family fund.

The work recently won first place for a water feature in the Beautification Awards given by the Orange County chapter of the California Landscape Contractors Association. Then at the CLCA state convention, Cohen Landscape received one of six top awards, the special effects trophy award.
