Longest driven journey: Tata Nano breaks Guinness world record
BANGALORE, India -- Tata motors' cheapest car in the world Nano have entered the Book of world records for driving on a longest journey, breaking the previous Guinness world record of 8,046km and setting the new world record for the Longest journey by car in a single country,
according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The Guinness world record for the longest journey by car in a single country is 15,793 km (9,813.3 miles) and was achieved by Gennadij Paramonov, Alexey Vorobiev, Alexander Nesterov, Andrey Ivanov, Ilya Novikov, Alexey Simakin, Rafael Usmanov and Denis Solomovich (all Russia), and Rainer Zietlow (Germany) who drove three Volkswagen Amaroks from Moscow to Petropavlovsk (Russia).
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the Longest journey by bus, set by Hughie Thompson, John Weston and Richard Steel (all UK), who covered 87,367 km (54,289 miles) through 18 countries in the World Bus, a red London Routemaster double-decker bus.
The car was driven by Bangalore-based motoring enthusiast Srikarunya Subrahmanyam and his team.
Tata motor president Ranjit Yadav at an event said that the expedition was accomplished in 10 days between March 21st to 30th covering around 10,218 Km.
The trail was from Kanyakumari in Southern Tamil Nadu to circumnavigate the country to return to Bangalore.
Speaking on this remarkable achievement, Mr. Ranjit Yadav, President – Passenger Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors said, "The Tata Nano has put India on the world motoring map when it comes to frugal engineering.
