TOKYO, Japan -- Measuring just 32 × 70 × 10.7 mm and weighing 32 grams, the 'WX06A' announced by Japanese carrier Willcom boasts a one inch colour OLED display more usually found in watches, and a fold out antenna; it sets
the new world record for the Lightest phone, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The Guinness world record for the lightest mobile phone was set by the modu, which weighs 40.1 g (1.41 oz). It is manufactured by modu ltd. (Israel) and was launched at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most people in a mobile phone game relay: 2,030 - achieved by Nokia (Malaysia) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Japanese firm Willcom has unveiled the world's smallest smartphone--a 1.25" x 2.75" miniphone with a battery that supports two hours of talk time.

The product, called the Phone Strap 2, has a one-inch LCD screen with 96 x 96 pixel resolution, and a basic email feature--the phone does not include a camera, any apps, or much storage.

As the successor to Willcom's original Phone Strap, the Phone Strap 2 WX06A is actually slightly thicker than its predecessor, which measured 10.5mm. Willcom said it managed to trim down the new Phone Strap by one gram while adding several essential features, including email.

In a statement, the company said that the design was meant as an accessory to larger smartphones.

Wilcom says only 12,000 units of the Phone Strap 2 will be manufactured in black, white and pink. The device will be released later this year in Japan, with no price or global availability having been disclosed yet.
