Most people performing push ups: Limavady breaks Guinness world record (VIDEO)
LIMAVADY, UK -- As part of the 'Limavady 400' celebrations, Limavady pushed its way into the Book of Records when 436 people took to the ground in Drumceatt Square, smashing the previous Guinness World Records' record of 352 people, achieved by Laboratorios Silanes S.A. de C.V. (Mexico) at Bosque de Tlalpan Park in Mexico City, and setting the new world record for Most people performing push ups,

The Guinness World Records' record for the most people performing push ups is 352, achieved by Laboratorios Silanes S.A. de C.V. (Mexico) at Bosque de Tlalpan Park in Mexico City, Mexico.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the most one-arm push-ups on the back of the hand completed in one hour; it is 1,025 - achieved by Doug Pruden (Canada) at the Don Wheaton Family YMCA in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
The record breaking event took place in Drumceatt Square, with people of all ages joining in to make the new record, smashing the previous Guinness World Records' record of 352 people, achieved by Laboratorios Silanes S.A. de C.V. (Mexico) at Bosque de Tlalpan Park in Mexico City, Mexico, on 20 October 2012.
"Boxing champ, Eamonn O'Kane from Banagher, and Limavady Mayor Gerry Mullan were among those who completed the challenge to the sounds of the iconic Rocky theme tune," The Derry Journal reported.
"Everyone should be so proud of themselves and they have done the town proud too. The past few days have proved that civic pride is well and truly alive in Limavady," said event co-ordinator Andy Chapman.
"It was marvellous to see so many people who came out to celebrate and it's wonderful we now have a world record to boast about," said Limavady Mayor, Colr. Gerry Mullan.
